He added a clause to all deeds that mandated any building plan be submitted for an architectural review to ensure the buildings on the island retained the Spanish Colonial Revival style influence.

Things to Do in San Clemente
San Clemente, also known as “Spanish Village by the Sea,” has some of the most beautiful beaches in Southern California and plenty of activities for visitors of all ages. There are historical monuments, such as the Casa Romantica Cultural Center And Gardens, which is the historic home of the founder of the city of San Clemente. The San Clemente Pier offers visitors direct access to the idyllic San Clemente Pier Beach, which is perfect for surfing and sunbathing. The Marine Park has a life-sized bronze statue of Marine Sergeant Rob Elliott, which was sculpted in 2005, and he is depicted as saluting his fallen comrades.
