Situated southeast of Los Angeles, Huntington Beach is known for its beautiful beaches and long surfboards. As far as festivals go, the city’s annual Kite Festival is a popular one, which takes place north of the pier in late February.

The downtown area has a diverse mix of shops and restaurants. While there are many surf shops in the area, Pacific City has a more eclectic atmosphere. You can check out boutiques and artisanal shops. There are also a few outdoor markets in the city, but the downtown is a bit more relaxed and quaint. Huntington Beach has a large central park between Gothard and Edwards Streets and Slater and Ellis Avenues. It was dedicated on June 15, 1974, and is one of the largest city-owned parks in Orange County. The park’s xeric vegetation is home to a wide variety of native animals and plants. Blue Gum Eucalyptus is a particularly high-water-use plant, so it’s not surprising that the city’s trees are so lush.
